Personal Touches for the Perfect Wedding

So it’s probably not a massive concern to the bride – I mean in the grand scheme of things does it matter if the font on the table number matches the label on the wedding favour? YES! Yes it does – well it does to us haha … DelliPops tend to get involved in your wedding planning process quite near the end and help with the finishing touches to the big day. Usually our process means that you pay your ¬£50 deposit to secure your date and then we get back in touch about six weeks before your wedding to finalise your wedding cake style. By that point the Bride and Groom have already settled on the venue dressing and the table centre designs and what is still left to plan is the favours, place name cards, Table numbers or names signs.

DelliPops have a couple of different ideas for wedding favours – all edible obviously!

Doughnut wedding favours and cake pop or cookie wedding favours can be individually packaged to remain fresh and so can be delivered nationwide – order here

We have a great solution if you are planning a wedding breakfast where you will have a table plan – instead of buying place name tent cards and favours – combine the two – have our unique DelliPops Place Settings. An upside down cake pop with a bespoke label – the guest name on the front (instead of a boring place name card) and a personalised message from the newlyweds on the back.

So this is where we get all obsessy (yeah I know not a word) about fonts and matching graphics. The DelliPop Wedding Cake Pops in the pic above have place name labels with a graphic and font to match the beautiful table name sign designed by a local graphic design led wedding stationer. Doesn’t it all look lovely together ūüôā

These realistic red apple cake pops we made recently are a perfect example of how a great wedding favour combined with a place name label can be the perfect finishing touch for a really unique and personalised wedding¬† – check out the Disney font “Happily Ever After” and the guests name is on the ‘leaf’ of snow white’s red apple – A perfect Disney themed wedding – aren’t the table centres awesome!

A glitzy glam cake pop for a glamorous wedding at 30 James Street, Liverpool – again we co-ordinated – instead of a place name tent card the bride chose to give each guest a DelliPop favour with their name on to direct them to the right seat. We designed the favour tag to compliment the table centres as they were mostly foliage rather than flowers and. We used a eucalyptus graphic which was also used for the table number signs – we love to make these for the wedding table to look really well put together!

Sian & Vince

For Sian and Vince’s wedding, we took the lead on all the graphic design and used a beautiful blush pink summer wreath graphic based on their pretty floral centrepieces and we used a bold boho script font that all worked together fantastically. We made the happy couple their seating plan, table number signs, sweet table sign and place name labels to turn their cake pop favours into place settings.

7 Best DelliPop Style Wedding Cakes

I am sooooo rubbish at blogging – Life is just too busy I guess and writing doesn’t come naturally to me at all – not like chatting – that comes super easy ūüėČ

Thought I’d do a little round up of our favourite wedding cakes of the year so far, mainly because I have just taken the advice of upgrading our Pinterest from personal to business and i need some original pins … prepare for an image laden post ha ha …

Definitely our winner this year, we loved making this massive chocolate laden croquembouche style tiered wedding cake creation for this stunning couple at 30 James Street, Liverpool. Such a dramatic styled Hotel totally needed this over the top wedding cake full of Lindt Chocolate that we hand painted gold, silver and pearl with Ruby KitKat, handmade pink popcorn, bridal satin chocolate covered oreos, antique gold heart shaped cookies, and our delicious DelliPop cake pops.

img_20181019_231412bit of a cheat as it’s not strictly a wedding cake but come on we are DelliPops Cakery – we make so many wedding cake favours that we can totally justify it .. right? We particularly loved these pretty antique vintage lace style mocha wedding pops with a stylish bride pop and cute groom pop in his pink dickie bow

img_20181007_143030 Another of our white chocolate abstract painted and textured wedding cakes. This one had blush silk blooms and gold love topper. There was so much texture on this cake which was highlighted with bridal satin and pearl white lustre so that it really shimmered in the light, such a pretty effect.

Our favourite naked cake of the year – only a 2 tier semi naked buttercream wedding cake but it was the first of the new autumn season and we got to dress it with those succulent figs and massive juicy blackberries. Plus it was at Chateau Rhianfa right on the Menai Straits, an incredible breathtaking venue that makes you feel really special! (Or really, really nervous second-guessing your cake skills because it’s such a salubrious venue haha)

img_20181007_150628Not the greatest picture of this massive tower of donuts and cake pops but it makes a fabulous alternative wedding cake!

Our Boho Chic Chocolate 4 Tier Wedding cake was perfect for the vintage, hessian, jute and lace themed wedding. The gold touches in the foliage and the arty splashes of gold against the chocolate looked really great, especially with the pale pink and peach blooms.

Not a DelliPops Cake – definite cake goals! We would be over the moon if a newlywed couple hired us to make this dream Gold Leaf Wedding Cake

Adventure Awaits

Ooh we’ve had a creative week at Dellipops!¬† In fact every order had some element that I’d never done before but hey, life is boring if there’s no challenge! Right? Try still thinking positive at 2am when your 3rd attempt at gluten free, Vegan doughnuts are the texture of burnt biscuits ūüė¶¬† ¬†This weeks wedding cake pop favours were another first – hand piping chocolate in the shapes of continents to make the pops look like little globes for a lovely couple with a travel themed wedding reception after they tied the knot in Italy last week. I’m actually really pleased with how they turned out and, proving that prep is the key to success, after I printed some reference images of the earth viewed from space (honestly I really did) they were actually a bit easier to do than I’d imagined.

Globe Inspired Cake Pops – Travel Themed Wedding Reception

The cake we’ve made this week is for a man’s 65th Birthday, completely different than our usual chocolate drip cakes and I absolutely love it! The bottom tier is vanilla, strawberry and white chocolate with a pinata centre filled with his favourite sweets and the top tier is a ‘Mars Bar’ cake – chocolate fudge cake, milk chocolate ganache, dulche de leche caramel and sliced mars bars! It’s such a great tasting cake and a fantastic choice for a party (it keeps really well too and is awesome warm with ice-cream)

Inside DelliPops Mars Bar Cake

The outside of the cake is rustic finished white chocolate ganache with a handmade milk chocolate sailboat and anchor which is sailing on hand carved chocolate ganache waves. I’m so grateful to the client for letting me persuade her to have something bespoke rather than the usual sweetie topped candy and chocolate explosion drip cakes – although I do love making them too.

We also had a custom doughnut order for a wedding doughnut wall (and no I can’t make gluten free, vegan donuts – you’ll have to make do with my gf, v chocolate & caramel Muffins) My favourite is the salted caramel glaze with caramel frosting heart

It seems as if there’s been 2 themes running through everything … caramel and travel! I find travel themed party and wedding images really inspiring – I’d love to do a vintage travel photoshoot – I’ve already got the pinterest board ready!!!

Inspiration Series: Chocolate Brown, Gold and Green Theme

So, continuing on from the previous¬†Argentine Embrace¬†post, this post is about the inspiration behind my new Rustic Glamour collection. I’ve been looking on pinterest and wedding blogs for a while for new wedding cake pop ideas and to see what the most popular colours are for brides. I kept seeing mood boards around a woodsy, country theme with lots of chocolate brown and forest green. Like this one from¬†¬†blog.finestationery.com

I love the rich colours and earthy textures and of course anything chocolate is going to be loved by me! At first I was thinking of designing rustic cake pops with a plain matt chocolate finish topped with chopped nuts, probably lovely green pistachios …. something like this …

But as much as¬†I¬†thought they’d be yummy and fit the theme¬†I¬†just didn’t think they really went well with the other wedding collections which are much more sophisticated and¬†glamorous. After seeing some stunning gold themed inspiration boards I decided to add gold to the brown and green tones and cobbled together a mood board of my own from everything I’d seen and loved.¬†( If you’re looking to make a board of your own or want to be inspired by colour take a look at The Perfect Palette – their boards are simply beautiful and its really easy to use.)

So? What do you think? I’m pleased with them –¬†I¬†feel like¬†I¬†achieved a good combination of the earthy rustic colours of chocolate brown and forest green with a more glitzy feel that I think U.K. brides will prefer. ¬†
