I’ve just had the pleasure of making yummy cake pops for a mummy to be for her baby shower .. I think they came out great and I don’t just do weddings, I’ve done Christenings, Birthdays, Hen Parties but a Baby Shower is a new one for me.
Everyone was really pleased with them so I thought I’d work on a range … What do you think?

This week it’s been lovely to have a reprieve from all the Christmas festivities, fayres and themed cake pops and make some pretty girly pops for a lovely young ladies birthday.
I really like how these turned out … there was no real brief other than ‘girls birthday’ so I got the opportunity to make something I’d enjoy and to use my new frills and frosting mini cases by Talking Tables. They’d be great for any age birthday really or Mother’s Day or just afternoon tea .. any excuse for a cake pop really!
Like I said it was nice to take a break from making Xmas pops because I have made quite a few over the last few weeks .. a Christmas wedding with a 100 festive pops and then I’ve done Xmas pud style cake pops for two Christmas fayres with Porridge & Pumpernickel.
There’s no orders now until the new year so I can concentrate on getting ready for the massive family Christmas we are hosting … maybe I’ll make cake pop place names?
Had a great Saturday selling DelliPops and cakes in Benllech. This week we’d made the usual bestsellers – ‘William’s Groom Cake’ and ‘diabetic friendly’ fruitcake as well as a variety of muffins and some really yummy chocolate fudge cakes. The most fun to sell though were the pupcakes – especially when the owners let the doggies eat them at the stall – its so cute seeing them sit up and beg or shake paws!
Its been a brilliant week – I’ve started supplying cakes and pops to my very favourite hotel – The Bulkeley in Beaumaris and I’m chuffed to bits about it! Delivering my cakes yesterday I felt like a proud mummy – silly but true! The Bulkeley have also asked if I’d like to be the wedding cake supplier at their wedding fair in October. I would absolutely love to do it and I’m sure it would be great for the business but bloomin heck its a bit pricier than the venues we used to do back in Crewe. It feels like a ‘must do’ though since that’s where we got married! Whats that saying .. speculate to accumulate?
Some pictures of what we’ve been up to at DelliPops today
Banana Bread for Dogs
Doggy Flapjacks dipped in dog safe chocolate
I’ve been very brave and tried samples – its not like the ingredients aren’t for people – and I love bananas, apples, carrots and peanut butter but there’s something about the lack of fat and sugar and knowing that they’re for dogs that just puts you right off trying them! But I did and they are edible but not really for two-legged taste buds! – going to visit a shelter tomorrow and give some samples out to get doggy feedback!
So, continuing on from the previous Argentine Embrace post, this post is about the inspiration behind my new Rustic Glamour collection. I’ve been looking on pinterest and wedding blogs for a while for new wedding cake pop ideas and to see what the most popular colours are for brides. I kept seeing mood boards around a woodsy, country theme with lots of chocolate brown and forest green. Like this one from blog.finestationery.com
I love the rich colours and earthy textures and of course anything chocolate is going to be loved by me! At first I was thinking of designing rustic cake pops with a plain matt chocolate finish topped with chopped nuts, probably lovely green pistachios …. something like this …
But as much as I thought they’d be yummy and fit the theme I just didn’t think they really went well with the other wedding collections which are much more sophisticated and glamorous. After seeing some stunning gold themed inspiration boards I decided to add gold to the brown and green tones and cobbled together a mood board of my own from everything I’d seen and loved. ( If you’re looking to make a board of your own or want to be inspired by colour take a look at The Perfect Palette – their boards are simply beautiful and its really easy to use.)
And what did all these beautiful inspiring pictures lead to?
The Rustic Glamour Cake Pop Collection
So? What do you think? I’m pleased with them – I feel like I achieved a good combination of the earthy rustic colours of chocolate brown and forest green with a more glitzy feel that I think U.K. brides will prefer.
